Youth Worship Service
People came to True Faith and it seems they came expecting. The Lord’s presence was felt the entire time and the worship atmosphere was definitely charged. Shanice Ellis opened with a prayer that was a cry for people to worship the Lord. The youth praise team was dynamic as they rendered their musical offering.
We were blessed to have Saxon Harris visit us today. She is a young soloist who is part of Deacon McClendon’s family. She was a blessing as she rendered two musical offerings with a voice that is anointed to sing praises to the Lord.
Check Your Emotions At The Door
Minister Elshevian Brown gave us the word of God using Deuteronomy 31:2-7 and a topic entitled “Check Your Emotions At The Door”. He reminded us that the Israelites were a stiffnecked people who weren’t ever grateful for what God did for them. He said that we can be the same way because we get into our feelings and start questioning why we have to do certain things. He reminded the young people of True Faith when they get in their feelings, they have to realize their parents and teachers don’t feel like doing things sometimes, but out of love, they do it for them anyway.
The Dedication of Ceremony of Chinedu Judah Azodo
Brother and Sister Azodo dedicated their son Chinedu Judah Azodo today. Pastor Brown officiated this service. The Azodo family and friends numbered close to 30 people attended and in the African tradition, we celebrated with them. It was something to behold as they walked into the sanctuary singing praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.
Youth Explosion
At 3:00 p.m., we hosted the OIKOS Conference Youth Explosion. We were blessed with a liturgical praise dance from the Hayiya Dance Company. Their dance was energetic and gave honor to the Lord.
We received another message from the word of God by Pastor Jared Sawyer, Jr. He is an 18-year-old pastor pf Jared Sawyer Ministries in Atlanta Georgia. He preached from 2 Chronicles 7:11-17 and the topic was “Singing the Lord’s Song in a Strange Land.” He told us that it isn’t easy to live in a society that has rejected God and His words. He closed by saying we had to do what’s written in verse 14; humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways so that God will hear us and heal our land, whatever concerns us.
Amen.
